John Herrera
Senior Immigration Practice Manager

John Herrera brings more than 20 years of experience in immigration legal services, helping individuals and families navigate the U.S. immigration system. Originally from Colombia, John studied law before coming to the United States and has experienced the immigration process firsthand, shaping his commitment to serving immigrant families and communities.

John began his immigration legal services career with Catholic Charities of Oregon in 2005, becoming a Department of Justice Accredited Representative in 2006. He later served for more than a decade as Director of Immigration Legal Services, leading a team serving immigrants and families throughout Oregon. Throughout his career, John has helped thousands of individuals and families with family-based and humanitarian immigration matters, including family petitions, adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, citizenship and naturalization, U visas, VAWA, and other complex cases. Much of his work has focused on survivors of domestic violence and crime, refugees, and families facing difficult immigration circumstances.

John also brings extensive experience training and mentoring immigration legal professionals, reviewing complex cases, and helping legal teams strengthen the quality of services they provide.

As an immigrant himself, John understands how personal and stressful the immigration process can be. He believes clients should understand their case, know what to expect, and feel supported throughout the process.
